Hey beautiful people,
We made it to the end of the week, we are here, it is real. I am so happy it is. I started watching a movie that I have always loved called flipped. It always makes me think of what we mean to this world and who we are, who we want to be. There is this quote in the film where they are talking about how ‘A painting is more than the sum of its parts. A cow by itself is just a cow, a meadow by itself is just grass, flowers... and the sun peeking through the trees is just a beam of light, but you put them all together... and it can be magic.’ And then later in the film they talk about how its the same with people. How some people are greater than the sum of their parts and some people are less. And a lot of people are less. It is always shocking when you find out someone seems less than the sum of their parts. I think we should all strive to be greater. And I hope I am. The world needs more magic. Now here are my doodles of the day.
Ash and Tyler have this saying sure as eggs is eggs. They want to get a tattoo of eggs done haha, of course so this was me just thinking of ideas and just decided to write a good egg (they are good eggs). I have a lot of people in my life who are far greater than the sum of their parts and Ash, Tyler and Sarah are definitely one of those.
Here’s just another random doodle. I have trouble with arms so I’m going to practice that a lot. I just end up scribbling at them lol. Practice practice practice.
Good news of the week:
Ahmed Muhammad is the first Black male valedictorian in Oakland Technical High School's 106-year history. And he won’t be the last. Times are changing for the better and I can’t believe it’s taken this long. We need to keep doing better.
