Hello Earthlings,
IT IS FRIDAY. I am so happy it is Friday and Good Friday at that. If you celebrate Easter. I mostly celebrate it for the chocolate. I looove chocolate and being with Family. It is also autism awareness week this week. The person who is the love of my life is Autistic and on the spectrum. He deals with a lot in his everyday life, things you probably would never think about. He struggles with noise. Everything is too loud. Bright lights can sometimes be too much. It can be so overwhelming for him. A lot of it for him is sensory. He used to not be able to touch peoples hands or talk in groups, he had a lot of social anxiety. He has come so far yet he may look normal or seem normal to you but not everyone has obvious disabilities and that is what I want to bring to light. There are so many stereotypes that come with Autism and not everyone is the same. That’s why it is called a spectrum. Just because you cant see that someone is struggling doesn’t mean that they aren’t.
Happy news of the week:
Juliana Fetherman’s 22-year-old brother has autism and ADHD and has been very lonely, due to his lack of friends. Michael doesn’t have the social skills to meet and engage with new people and it’s concerned her for a long time—so she made an app. It is called Making Authentic Friendships, the app can connect people over age 13 who have special needs so they can make friends based on age, diagnosis, interest and geographic location.
Song of the day:
Stay Safe Doodlers,
Love,
Sav
